Coaches Standards
A successful coach is a leader who……
Maintains a positive attitude.
Is respectful of other coaches, umpires, players, and parents.
Resolves problems in a fair and civil manner.
Assures that each player who exhibits a commitment to her team by attending practices and games on a consistent basis has equal playing time.
Challenges each player to be the best they can be.
Teaches the team to enjoy playing the game, not focusing on winning or losing.
Coaching Ethics
Coaches shall put the welfare of players above all, while also maintaining a standard of conduct expected of an adult.
Coaches shall exhibit sportsmanship and encourage players to do the same.
Coaches will treat players with dignity and respect at all times.
Coaches are role models to players. They should at all times be aware of this responsibility.
Parent And Players Code of Conduct
Cheer for your team, not against the other team.
Be respectful to umpires. Please no arguing balls, strikes and calls from the stands. Accept the umpires’ calls and move on. The kids have already done so.
The ballpark is no place for profanity.
Remember your children’s coach is a volunteer, and doing the best he/she can. Getting involved to help the players is much more constructive and satisfying than doing nothing but criticizing.
Absolutely no alcohol, no intimidation, no fighting, no firearms, and no heckling allowed at any IGSA games or practices.
Please clean up after your games/practice end and help keep the rest rooms clean. **Adults, please remember that your children and other children will follow what you do. Please help keep our brand new facility, along with our old fields clean, so we can keep our fields looking great!
